Rush towards Adaption of Solar by Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Consumers:
Solar Adaption has been on a new high from past few months. The increasing pace of Adaption is mainly due to the growing economical feasibility and improving technology in Solar Industry along with some key factors like Supportive government policy, easy and convenient loan or Financing options.
Apart from the above factors, one key factor has been a recent news regarding compulsary use of DCR modules for any Grid connected project in India i.e. All C&I project will have to mandatorily use DCR modules for their Solar Plant, if they commission the plant after May 2026 ( expected).
Due to vast variation in prices of DCR & N-DCR modules ( there is a price variation of 10,000 Rs / kwp), all the major utilities have been planning to get their plants readied before upcoming notification.
The new mandate shall temporarily affect the volumes for time being, but shall be a key decision in helping Indian Solar Module markets achieve independent Supply Chain.
